When you install TCP/IP, system and name Resolution files are copied from WIN NT. installation Directory (J386) to your.

 1. Winnt-Root \System 321 drivers    &

2. Winnt- Root| System32/ driver /ETC directories.

(        (1)logging as Administrator.

(        (2) Double click on Network Icon From control .

          (3)INSTALLATION OF TCP/IP OR WINDOWS NT

(4      (4) click on Protocol Tab.

(5      (5) Click on Add button select Network protocol just appear a dialog box.

(        (6) Select TCP/IP Protocol.      

(        (7)Click on ok button.

(        (8)the WIN NT Setup dialog box Appear.

         (9)  Type The Path of WIN NT Source file and click on Count setup will install fie from from the Path  you Provides.

          (10) Click on close the Microsoft TCO/IP Properties Dialog box Appear.

          (11) Type the IP Address and sub net Marks click OK.

(         (12) The network setting dialog box Will appear prompting to you restart your computer.

          (13) Click yes  computer will restart with he new IP address

 MENUALY CONFIGURATION OF TCP/IP

Manual Configuration Means assign  an IP address and sub marks

To Assign an IP address.

         i.        Open Network Icon frown Control Panel.

       ii.         Click on Protocol Tab.

      iii.        Select TCP/IP and click on properties Enter IP Address & sub net Mark.

IP Address and sub net mark every computer has unique identification number which is called IP address.it is 32 bit and IP address has two parts network IP and Host ID (computer).

Sub net mark is used to block out a part of IP address so that we can distinguish network ID and host ID.

Network ID and Host ID :-  All the computer in the same network should have same network should have same network ID and different host ID.

1. Class A :- It is used where no. of Network are less and no at host per network is large 

CLASS A

   In this type of network first bit of first octet is reserve as 0 the next 7 bit contain network ID the Remaining 24 bit contain host ID.in this type of network we can make  126 network 17 million host per network 127 is resure for loop back testing.

2. Class B :- the two MSB are resurve as 1 , 0 the next 14 bit contain  network ID the remaining 16 bit contain host ID the value in first octet Can varied from 128 to 192 there can be 16384 network and 16500 host per network.

3.  Class C :- it is used where no of network are large the first 3 bit contain network ID the Remaining 8 bit contain host ID the value of first  octet can varied from 192 to 223 its allows 2 million network and

254 host per network.

Share Folder for User

1.       we have click have Jo Create multiple user.

2.       Click my computer and make a folder in any drive which is present in your hard disk.

3.       Right click on that folder which you want to share just appear a dialog box.

4.       Click on share option just appear a  share properties dialog box.

·         Note share :- means folder, directory are not share.

·         Share as :- its mostly used to share any type of folder directory C : drive e.t.c.

·         Share Name :- charge Name on that particular folder which you want.

·         New share:- To Make New Share name.

·         Remove Share :-  its mostly used to delete Share file folder e.t.c.

·         USER LIMIT:-

WIN NT SERVER 4.0

We can give to access user limit Maximum allow and what ever we want.

 IN CASE OF WORKSTATION 4-0

 We can give user limit in workstation maximum  10 users and Maximum allow also.

PERMISSION

 There are four type of permission for user.

 1. Read Permission → Symbol = R

 2. Not Access Permission → Symbol = NA

 3. Full Control permission  → Symbol =  FC

4. Change Permission → Symbol = C

·         Read Permission :- Display Folder name and - file Name display the data and attributes the file Run program files. Change to folder with in folder.

·         Not access permission :- it established only connection to the share folder access to folder is denote and the contain do not appear.  Exception :- FC+NA=NA

·         Full control permission :- its give you permission to perform all the operation.

·         Charge Permission :- create folder and add file charge data end and opened data to file change all attributes duet folder and file.

GIVE PERMISSION FOR USER

        I.            Click on permission tab just appear a dialog box.

      II.            Select permission for user which you want.

    III.            Click on show user tab and add the all user which you want to give permission.

NOTE:- FAT 16 work as across the not.

SHARING:- when a folder is shared user can connect to the folder over the network and access the file that it contain shared folder appear as an icon of a hand holding the share folder.


CONVERT FAT PARTITION TO NTFS


Convert is command which IS used for converting FAT partition to NTFS.

 Syntax :- convert/drive:/FS: NTFS

  eg  :- CONVERT/ C: /FS : NTFS

NTFS is Non-DOS partition we can use this command by run and dose prompt also.


NTFS PERMISSION


NTPS permission are permission that are only available for volume that has been formatted with WIN NT file system ,NTPS permission put as local file and folder and some time refer to as logical permission.
